Bruxism device

Some years ago i developed a sever bruxism, that lead me to get pain every night after wake up.
I was so desperate that i stop my studies (anyway study with such pain was impossible) and tried to find cures.

My first attempt was to stop the bruxism. i thought , well is as easiy as make a alarm system that wakes me up when the clenching occurs. so i did search dr.google for some inspiration.
I found this:

Somebody thought as me, lets find a method to put this to an end. There in the webpage , i found the theory through this page,
There you could find a well versed doctor who sum up every solution from mouthguards to his latest approach based on some hot sauce liquid that breaks when you put your molars together.
So..i tried!! i bought some little bags through ebay, spicy sauce and plugged it under my own mouthguard with double tape glue  (desperation at its best).

The next 4 months i was using this approach, it had its downsides...the glue with my saliva made it drop while i was sleeping. sometimes it worked and i had to go to the bathroom and change the hot sauce pack. it took my time...and was getting frustrated..i wanted a normal life..that wasn't the way to go at least for me.

i found something more called grindcare, the device used electricity to zap your brain when the clench happened, but the cost of 1200$ made me think twice and found also botox (what i did , lasted 2 months worth...but i suspect that increased my illness because the toxin in it)

So i asked again mr.google...and he talk me about a project of a guy called Luc, that's the way i also got into reddit. he did a machine with a open source called arduino.
i didn't know a thing about arduino....but i got my chance! i had to try!!
SO happens that i spend my whole time learning to program arduino and learning to code from the scratch...then i got into electronic, spend my pennies in electronic tools, metal solder, electronic parts, arduino itself...and i did a device like luc did.

This was my first attempt, i plugged a button inside silicon and then glued to my mouth guard, then battery activate a little motor that i wore over the ear . the same as with the hot sauce , and the uncomfortable feeling of sleep with a cable from your own mouth. didn't last.

I began to build something based on Luc device, my electronic and programmer skills also improved while developing the whole rig, actually i'm very proud of it.

This is what is attached to my head, the muscles produce tiny amount of potential that a sensor multiply for being analized for my arduino code. the algorith was pretty basic.

Later i solded all together. it has also a audio plug to wake me up. Actually i used something else instead, a little motor that is attached to me, with a necklace.
TO sum up i have to say that it worked somewhat, i was sleepy, i tried for 6 months and i found that the clenching was less...but my sleepy eyes and fatigue didn't worth still.
My next biochemical approach went far better....so no machines for cure this...once again i asked and read dr.google, until i almost got a Phd. in biochemistry to understand the underlying causes of my own bruxism (and some other problems...) then i knew my enemy...it's called inflammation, and you really..really,  will never want to deal with it.

I will talk later about it in this same blog.
